Part 1 @ 3pm ET:
Introduction to Using Ableton and Looping Stations with Live Percussion
In the first workshop, Ravish will demonstrate how to set up a live set with acoustic percussion, a laptop, controllers and hardware instruments in order to explore some of the powerful tools Ableton Live provides to merge analog and digital realms. He will explain his own electro-acoustic set-up in detail as well as provide an overview of the music software he uses.
The livestream and in-studio classes will run simultaneously. There is limited space in the studio. Be aware that in-studio participants will be on camera and become part of the virtual experience. On-line participants will not be visible but can utilize the chat bar in the livestream to ask questions about the software or about problem solving issues with their own set-up.

About Ravish: Ravish Momin is an Indian-born drummer, electronic music producer and educator residing in New York City. A Structural/Civil Engineer by training, Momin also privately studied with Jazz master-drummer Andrew Cyrille for years while he worked as an engineer in New York City in the late 1990s.
